I am originally from California, raised there till I was four. My family later moved to Northwest Arkansas and lived there until I graduated from high school and pursued a college career in music. I want to be able to give opportunities to kids who would love to pursue music after high school. I want to instill them with the passion, love and knowledge of music. As I went through high school I never had many resources or knowledge to become a musician, but I still had the drive to do something with music. I want to help my students to realize that there is always an opportunity no matter what the circumstance. I would like to make music an escape for these kids who live a difficult home life and help them enjoy the greater things in life like music.
As I stated earlier I never had many opportunities or resources to become the musician I dreamed of becoming. I met my teacher Keith Wood my sophomore year of high school. He has become the ideal trumpet player I would love to become. He taught me to never give up when the going gets tough. He motivated me by always introducing me as his top student or number one student and reminded me that I shouldn’t say “I cant do this” or “never”. He took the time out of his life to give me free lessons everyday even though he charged thirty dollars a lesson and would tell me “you know Armando you may feel like you’re getting free lessons but the progress you make each day is payment enough”. I believe god sent an angel to help me become the musician I would love to become. If not for him coming into my life I would have never considered performing for a living as an option. To him I owe all my thanks to my future accomplishments.
